juijitsu-I get what youre saying.BUT singers like DiDonato,Damrau,Pape,Alagna ARE clearly VERY emotional and expressive singers.They just would'nt be world famous if they were sterile and only technical.Their technique actually allows that expression to be fully realised.Another point is that you HAVE to have great technique to even attempt the Mozart stuff Damrau sings or the Handel DiDonato sings.That's why Potts will never sing Turandot fully or sing Mozart Dies Bildnis(see Florez do it).

@blueeyed I'm not saying ANYTHING about your videos. I'm saying that there are artists who are never classically trained that "Feel" the music in ways that some professionals never will. Billie Holiday for example was never acclaimed for her beautiful voice. In fact it was unrefined. But the passion in her voice brought people to tears. Technical perfection isn't everything. It's something, but not everything. An ok singer can change the world more than a perfect one with the right heart.

One of greatest voice I have heard. Pauls 2nd album I play when I am putting the children to bed, it calms them, Paul Potts you are one great singer. There is an energy with your voice, just love it.

While he may not be a classically trained professional opera performer, I think he really hits on what opera is meant to do. He inspires intense emotion in the listener with just a short aria. Criticize if you wish but that doesn't change the power he has with his voice.

@scarletrosemarie-actually college tutors I asked are genuinely positive to singers with less training like Paul+not bitchy at all.Honest.But fact is all pro opera singers have had much training and need that to sing complex throughcomposed (not seperate arias)operas eg.Salome,Walkure,choral soloing eg Faure Requiem,lieder(eg.Schubert songs).Paul is just not at level of singers in my videos+anyone can hear that.Btw I would never boo him.I respect him but he's just no great classical singer

I agree Potts got talent, but comparing him to Pavarotti as many do doesn't make any sense. For example, the final "vincero" Potts holds for 7-8 seonds compared to Pavarotti's 15 seconds in his prime.

blueyedboy Try Ava Maia Nurnberg, sound better, Of course college tutors at your college will not like someone whohas not been to college, If all classical singers were as popular as Paul Potts who hasn't been to a college, it might affect their job. Opera I have heard is very backbiting even within their circles. Read that a few times. Have you never seen Paul Potts in one of his concerts, I think you would be the only person booing in the audience if you did.

Wow...absolutely amazing performance. I used to think these Finals were simply repeats of their first performance, but this was completely unexpected. I especially liked how, at around 1:50, there was just a single lady singing the melody, soon joined by his own powerful voice. And the finale of the song, with the sparks and the intensity of his singing, I couldn't help but get goosebumps all over...my only regret is that I couldn't have seen this man sing sooner.
